Also known as Zakynthos, a Zante holiday offers breathtaking scenery, amazing beaches, striking night life all within friendly holiday resorts. Its natural beauty is unbelievable to behold. Pine covered mountains and beaches of white sands sheltered by dramatic cliffs.

The capital of Zante on the east coast is Zante town. Although a lot of the capital was destroyed in an earthquake in 1953, the capital has been rebuilt and provides an interesting mixture of shops and bars around a large harbour.

The most well known of all the holiday resorts in Zante is Laganas but other resort on the island are Alikes, Vassilikos, Tsilivi, Argassi, Planos, Gerakas and Porto Roma.

Holiday Attractions and Beaches in Zante - Greece

Travelling around the island is probably best in taxis, as the bus service is fairly limited. You will find taxi ranks in most holiday resorts. Be aware that most taxi drivers will have relatives that own bars , restaurants or local businesses and may try and persuade you to go to this places. In term of fare prices, there are usually fixed prices to most destinations. It is best to ask how much the journey will take before excepting the ride.

Navagio Beach or Shipwreck Beach - Zante

A superb though isolated beach. Said to be the most photographed beach in Zante and is only assessable by a short half any hour boat trip departing from Porto Vromi. Boat trips leaves every hour. Located in the eastern coast of the island the ship wreak that its known after is still remains washed up on the beach. Adding to its natural wonder ‘Smugglers Cove’ as its also known, is every bit worth the trip to Zante on its own.

Laganas Beach Resort - Zante

If you are looking to party the night away then Laganas is the most suited resort on the island, where your night can end when the sun rises up. Entry admission generally will be free, where the clubs make there money from the drinks you buy. This means that you are free to try all of them with out being stung and feeling you are restricted to stay in one all of the night. You can expect to see happy hours in most. One pointer is not to enter a pub or club that currently has a pub crawl organized inside. As the bar prices will have been inflated.

Laganas beach is one of the most famous and most developed beach in Zante. Laganas beach stretches 9 kilometers long. The usual sun beds and beach side facilities are available including various beach bars and taverns. Water sports enthusiasts are catered for in the crystal clear water

Tsilivi Beach Resort - Zante

Located on the north east coast of the island of Zante. Has become one of the islands hot spots for evening entertainment, with many bustling bars, restaurants and night clubs. Situated nine kilometers form Zante airport and only 5 kilometers for Zantes capital “Zakynthos Town”.

Tsilivi has a very clean beach to bath in, proven by its blue star award for cleanliness. The sea is suitabliy shallow to aloow all ages to splash around in the surf as you can venture out quite far and still be safe in waters up to your knees.

If you wish to lie down and soak up some sun then clean sun beds are available for hire for only 6 Euro. An additional 2 Euro will gain you a umbrella for a touch of shade when the sun gets a little over powering.

Zante is holiday destination revisited by its tourists year after year.
