The classic Afaia Temple is one of the oldest
surviving temples still standing. The beautiful
structure really is worth a visit. Situated on
top of a hillside the temple made of local poros
stone make a lovely day out of walking for the
ramblers among you. If walking the 5 kilometer
walk from Aghia Marina there is a short bus service
to Afaia. The temple is open from 8 to 6.30 every
day apart from Mondays.
Located on the southern coast of the Aegina is
a lovely and quaint fishing village of Perdika.
Rated as one of the most picturesque places of
the island. You can expect to find great places
to eat amongst the streets and on the harbours
edge while watching the boats sail by.
Although the island probably doesn’t offer
such a extreme and energigised holiday compared
to some of the other Greek islands. This quietness
and calm of the island is one of its biggest assets.
While saying this the island has its own water
park where you can bring your kids to splash around
while you relax in the Aegean sun.
