Portillo Ski Resort - Chile
The Portillo Ski resort has become world famous
in recent years and renowned for its first rate
powered snow. Its ski season starts from June
and finishes in October. Best skiing snow is said
to be from the middle of July to the middle of
August. Prices do vary throughout the season but
simply avoiding the favored snow conditions will
make you a saving.
The skiing resort is self contained and pretty
much separate form other towns and near by villages.
This means that the slopes are never over crowded
making the resort ideal for the beginner skiers
out there. In fact all level of Skiers and snowboarders
are catered for with slopes to suit all abilities.
There is a skiing school to teach you the basics
and three beginner runs to practice your new skills
on. Intermediate and advanced skiers won’t
miss out as there are numerous steeper runs that
will challenge the more experienced veteran skiers.
Even national ski teams come to Portillo - Chile
for there summer practice.
The resort supplies all the facilities you come
to expect, from lift to equipment hire. It’s
possible to rent all of the necessary equipment
from the ski hire shop, they also offer equipment
maintenance and waxing of you ski’s and
snowboards.

Located 100 miles from Chile 's International
Airport of Santiago, transfers are available for
the airport.
It will take a bout an 2 hour drive to the skiing
resorts. But be assured that the drive is very
scenic as you pass picturesque postcard scenes
of Chile.
Three Hotels are available to accommodate while
your of the slopes on your skiing holiday. Hotel
Portillo, The Octagon Lodge and Inca Lodge and
are well established hotels. Your have a wicked
time on and off the slopes and if you need a rest
from the slopes there are a number of other activities
on hand within all the hotels.
